Working in a pair...

For this project I am going to be working together with Laura Dickinson, we have decided to focus on the genre of alternative rock for our music video. Within alternative rock, there a many different sub-genres and we have decided to focus on pop rock. We decided this as I prefer pop music and laura prefers rock music, making pop rock a suitable choice for us to do. Here is a link to her blog - lauradickinsonyear13media.blogspot.co.uk

Possible Songs to use...

On youtube, I searched some possible songs to consider using for a music video. All are slightly similar as they are based on love, something I would like to focus the video on. I found 5 songs that stood out most to me. Below I'm going to write what I particulary like about them each...

I like the chorus of this video, it is very catchy and there is a wide range of shots that could link well to the lyrics. The song is very ‘fun’ and loving, and could include lots of shots of a happy couple enjoying themselves. It links a lot to love as it is about the guys singing about how their girlfriend love is ‘taken over me’.

I like the fact the guy is singing and playing the guitar in this. Again, it is quite a 'fun' song with a catchy tune. In the video, it shows some good times but also contrasts back to him by himself singing about how he want to go back to 'summer paradise with you'.

I really like the lyrics in this song, they are very strong and meaningful. There are lots of shots that can link well to the lyrics. This relates to love, as the guy has broken up with his ex girlfriend, she then moves on whereas he wants her back.

I think that this song is really cute, the lyrics are very loving. There are lots of different shots we could do of a couple that would link really well to the song lyrics. This song relates well to love, it's about the 'little things' they like about their girlfriends, the main bit that stood out is the fact they say 'im in love with you'.
This video is about young love, which could work as the actors I would use would be in sixth form. It links well to love as there is mention of 'Romeo and Juliet' and she also mentions about him being her Prince.
